When your closed test has run its 14 days, you can choose Apply for production in Play Console. There’s no template that Google rewards, so write your own answers from what actually happened in your test.
What each part asks
Part 1: Your closed test
- How easy it was to recruit testers
- Whether testers used all of your app's features
- Whether their usage matched real production users
- A summary of the feedback you received, and how you collected it
Part 2: Your app or game
- Your target audience
- Your app's value proposition, or what makes your game unique
- Your estimated install range for the first year
Part 3: Your production readiness
- What changes you made based on what you learned
- How you decided the app is ready for production
How to answer Part 1’s trickiest questions
The engagement question
Name the flows your testers exercised, such as sign-up, the core feature and settings, and say whether anything went untested. If usage differed from production, say that instead of glossing over it.
The feedback question
List two or three specific things testers reported and how you gathered them, for example through Play Console feedback or a shared form. Keep a record from day one.
It must be true. A confident, accurate answer that names a few real problems and the fixes you made is better than a polished answer that could describe any app.
Quick answers
Is it allowed to use a testing service?
Google asks how you found your testers and how engaged they were, and you must answer truthfully. Our testers are real people testing on Android devices, with no bots and no emulators. Google makes you responsible for your app’s compliance, so read its rules for your own app as well.
What if Google doesn’t approve after the 14 days?
If Google asks for more testing because of the closed testing criteria, we run a new 14-day test at no extra charge. Google decides every application, so we can’t promise approval. Its help page names two reasons for more testing: fewer than 12 opted-in testers, or not enough tester engagement.
What App Testers handles for you

- Kept active for all 14 days, replaced if one leaves
