How to Pass Google Play's 14-Day Closed Testing
Since November 2023, Google requires personal developer accounts to test with at least 12 real users for 14 continuous days before production release. Here is our step-by-step process.
Google Play closed testing, handled in four steps

Continuous 14-Day Testing & Daily Engagement
Our verified testers download your app via Google Play onto physical Android devices of different brands. They open the app daily, interact with features, and report bugs or crash logs.
Apply for Production Track with Answer Notes for the Questionnaire
After the 14 days, choose Apply for production in Play Console. Google asks questions about your closed test, your app and your production readiness. We give you answer notes based on the real testing data gathered during the 14 days.
Why self-organized tests often fall short
1. Friend Dropouts
If fewer than 12 testers stay opted in, the test doesn't meet Google's rule, and Google can ask for more testing.
2. Emulator & Bot Detection
Google requires real testers. Emulators and bots can't give the truthful engagement answers Google's production form asks for.
3. Vague Answers
Google asks what bugs testers found and how you used their feedback. Vague answers are weak next to specific answers from real testing data.
